Gender mainstreaming is a tool, adopted by the UN, to achieve gender equality. It is a critical role of the government to fulfill the goal to achieve gender equality in the society.
Gender mainstreaming in the government ministries program aims to support government departments in Myanmar to build and enhance knowledge and technical skills on gender mainstreaming in their respective departmental directives and activities.
This program is being implemented in collaboration and through the cooperation of the Department of Social Welfare of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (MSWRR) through the support of ChristianAid.
The GDI organizes trainings and workshops for government departments regularly in order to equip the knowledge and technical skills of the government employees on gender mainstreaming.
More than (57) female and (32) male Total (89) staffs from more than (18) departments have received technical training on gender mainstreaming.
